Make this simply strung seashell hanging in only a few easy steps. I love all things home decor, especially handmade pieces and items that have meaning to them. I love collecting beach finds and figuring out ways to add these collections to my home in all sorts of different ways. Adorn your windows or walls with this beautiful piece to add charm to any room. Just follow the instructions below and share your masterpieces with #thelittlebungalow
Materials:
Seashells (in all shapes and sizes)
Long piece of twine or hemp (cut to length you would like your hanging to be.)
Handful of raffia (for bottom of hanging)
Small hand drill
Once you've gathered all your materials, now you can start building your creation. Get your work station prepped on where you want to build, it's only a little messy from the seashell dust when drilling so if you want to lay down newspaper or anything feel free to. I just worked on mine outside to make for an easy clean up!
Instructions:
1. Decide if there is a certain order you want your shells in.
2. Next decide where you want the hole and mark it on each shell.
3. Place the tip of the drill bit on the spot you marked make sure you use a smaller bit to be sure not to crack the shells.
4. Turn the bit so it cuts through the shells slowly and continue turning until a hole forms
5. Take you string and tie a loop at the top (this will be your hanging point)
6. Thread your shells on
7. Knot off once shells are all strung on with your raffia
8. Find it a new home and enjoy your creation!
