Create this fun wall hanging to add a pop of color and beauty to your house. It's the easiest DIY ever! Maybe not ever, but pretty close to it! All you need are a few simple supplies and you're off to creating a statement piece for any wall in your home.
Supply List:
Rug (any size) the one pictured we found at Home Goods
Wooden Dowel long enough to fit top length of rug with some over hang
String for hanging
Needle
Embroidery Thread
Sewing Pins
Scissors
Nail or hanging hook
Lay your rug out and figure out which end you want for the top.
Fold top over about and inch or two and take your needle and thread and use a running stitch along the bottom of the folded section along the entire length of the top of your rug. Knot it off and cut any extra thread away. This should now leave you with a long opening to push your dowel through.
Push your dowel through until you have a little bit of it hanging out each end.
Figure out how much string is needed for you to hang. ( I measured mine by the length of the dowel plus a little extra so I had room to make my knots) Tie the string on one end of the dowel and the other end of the string on the opposite end of the dowel. You should now have a hanging structure.
Figure out the perfect space and hang your masterpiece up using your nail or hook!
Enjoy showing off your creation!
